![]() It offers pretty much the same things as rocket player besides the live lists but it also has a proper queue function which rocket player lacks. I tried this one recently just cause it seems to be a bit more modernized in design and themes Muzio music player - MP3 Player by Apps10x I highly suggest checking this one out as it is my favourite by a mile I've tried many players but the fact that it doesn't use the dogshit unskippable ads or ads that force you to wait 5 seconds to close is great, but tbh I just payed 2 bucks cause it's worth it. It's free but you can pay $2 CAD to get rid of the nonintrusive banner ad that shows at the bottom of the UI. My personal suggestion though is classic blue which is essentially a dark theme with neon navy blue accents which looks super sweet. Notification and lockscreen widget that lets you skip, pause, toggle shuffle/loop without opening the appĪ BUNCH of different themes to choose from. The basic features like play, pause, rewind, loop specific song, loop all songs in playlist once it runs through them (music wont stop after playing everything), shuffle etc. in either ascending or descending orderĬan show embedded lyrics (I'm not really into seeing lyrics of songs while listening so the fact it shows them only if they're embedded isn't an issue at all to me) date added, album, play count, last played, skip count etc. if a new song that fits the category hits the minimum 5 in the example I used above and passes the lowest playcount in the list, the former would surpass the latter and boot it out of the playlist (if you cant tell I really like this feature)Īndroid auto support (REALLY like this since I don't listen to the radio and can listen to my own stuff, ad free on drives) The fact it automatically adds the songs to said playlist according to the parameters and constantly updates them is amazing ex. There are so many more rules and parameters that you could use for 1 live playlist it is insane. Keep in mind the example I gave was on the simple side. These live playlists offer a level of customization that I've never even thought of. making a playlist that contains a certain artist with songs added after september 2017 in a certain album that has been played at least 5 times, with a maximum of 10 songs in said playlist sorted by play count descending. Live playlists which is one of its main unique features, where you can create an automatic playlist of your local files with a certain combination of rules and parameters ex. I've used it for the past 6 years exclusively and it is still my favourite. ![]() Rocket Music Player by JRT studio music players - This is by far my most used and most liked music player app. Keep in mind these are for android and I do not know if they are available on ios: So here are a few of my recommendations for a local music player. In reality, there are so many alternatives that each offer a plethora of unique features that it's not a matter of what you're stuck with but which suits your tastes. Ok, the majority of complaints I have seen on here are from GPM refugees that believe there are 0 alternatives to listen to local files.
